A school endowment is a dedicated fund established to provide long-term financial sustainability for a school. For Catholic education, these endowments are vital as they help sustain the mission of providing faith-based education and nurturing the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of students.
Managed by the Foundation of the Diocese of Charlotte, endowments are permanent, with the principal kept intact in perpetuity and invested to create a growing source of income. The endowment grows through additional gifts, income and capital appreciation.
Planned Giving
Planned gifts to St. Matthew Catholic School offer a unique opportunity to leave a lasting legacy, ensuring the continued strength and sustainability of Catholic education for future generations. St. Matthew Catholic School Endowment Fund
The St. Matthew Catholic School Endowment Fund provides for the general needs of our school, ensuring its stability and growth for generations to come.
An endowment is a permanent fund in which the principal remains untouched. This principal includes the initial contribution used to establish the endowment as well as any additional gifts received over time.
Only the investment earnings generated by the endowment are utilized. These earnings create a steady and secure source of income, providing financial stability and ensuring the future of St. Matthew Catholic School. A robust endowment is essential for a thriving Catholic school, helping to manage rising costs while keeping tuition accessible for families seeking an exceptional Catholic education grounded in faith and mission.
To strengthen this vital resource, 7% of contributions to the Wildcat Annual Fund are allocated to the St. Matthew Catholic School Endowment Fund. The fund is carefully managed by investment professionals at the Diocese of Charlotte Foundation, ensuring its growth and sustainability.
To make a donation to the endowment, please mail a check payable to the "Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte" with St. Matthew Catholic School Endowment #296 in the memo line.
