Guidance Counseling & Support

The guidance and counseling program at St. Matthew Catholic School follows the belief that the school experience is a developmental process. Our counselors assist in fulfilling our mission statement – providing an atmosphere of faith and love where Jesus is alive and where students will be able to develop – by helping all students set and meet goals academically, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and socially.

The purpose of these programs is to provide resources for the growth and development of the student emotionally, personally and socially. This is accomplished in classroom, small group, and individual settings. Additionally, we provide parents with information on community resources as the need arises, plan parent programs on relevant topics, and maintain a crisis intervention management plan.

Currently, three part-time counselors offer guidance and counseling at St. Matthew Catholic School.
